Maryland

So, last Wednesday I flew to Dulles airport, and then drove into Walkersville, MD to see my friend Kathleen and her cute little family... we had a great week, and it was hard to say goodbye, but I am also glad to see Steve today when he surprised me by picking it up from the airport.

This picture was taken as I careened down a crazy slide in the middle of nowhere, that ripped my shirt and Kathleen's as we slid down it...

Arts Week

So, the past week has been a week filled with the arts for Steve and I. First we started by seeing Legally Blonde the Broadway Musical - on Thursday. It was great, probably my favorite of the Broadway Across America Season so far - thanks Steve for such a great birthday gift.

Monday, we went with Steve's parents to see HMS Pinafore at Rogers Memorial Theatre, also a good show, and great company - thanks Dave and Margaret for taking us along this season.

And then, Tuesday night as I was trying to finalize all of my work prior to leaving for Maryland for a week, I heard that "Five for Fighting" was at The Depot - Steve and I love live music, and we love concerts at The Depot, because of how intimate it is and how close you can get to the music. So, when I heard they were playing I called Steve and said, hey if I can finish up here by 7:30 do you want to go? He being the great loving and supportive husband said of course and ran down to buy tickets. As you can see from the picture above we got very close to the music, and the concert was awesome. It was a great date night prior to my leaving.

All in all it was a great week, filled with fun & a variety of artistic talent.

Update

So, it has been too long since I blogged. There isn't too much to update except for how quickly my little niece Aurora is growing... isn't she precious?

Anyway, other than that we are just hanging in there, getting by one day at a time. Thank you to all my friends and family for your support over the past couple of months I/we couldn't have done it without you.

One final comment ... isn't this about the sweetest picture you have ever seen... Not only is Aurora growing up quickly it looks like Mark is as well.

We'll miss you Debbie!

Jill's mom, Debbie Silver, passed away on Thursday February 11th, 2010 at 10:44 a.m. after complications from her long battle with Muscular Dystrophy. Since most anyone who reads this blog is probably already aware of this, I'm going to keep this blog entry short. I just want Jill to know how much I, along with her family and friends love her and will be there for her as she goes through this difficult time. Your mom was an amazing woman who loved you, Mark, and Kent so much. Her spirit will be watching over your family until the day that we all return home to our heavenly family.

Debbie, you will be dearly missed by all of us that are left behind. Do me a favor and say "hello" to my sisters for me. We'll see ya on the other side!

Where's the Beef?

So, do any of you remember this commercial... it was exactly how I felt last night after Steve suggested we go get a burger and fries for dinner. We decided to go to Pace's Dairy Ann, supporting a local business, and try something different.

This was my hamburger... seriously it was smaller than a McDonald's burger and about twice the price.

Final comment if you are going to serve a burger that small... get a smaller bun!

The 12 Pictures of Sundstrom Christmas - in no particular order

The first picture one of our two Christmas Trees -

The Second and Third Pictures of Christmas - Steve and I went to dinner at Trolley Square and since there was no Santa there we thought it was the perfect spot for a Christmas picture.

The Fourth Picture of Christmas - is a photo of one of the two Cheesecakes Steve made during the Holiday's - one for a dinner party early in December, and one for Christmas Eve - Yummy!

The Fifth Picture of Christmas - was taken on my surprise Christmas Present/Trip from Steve - Kim also surprised Dave - and we went to Las Vegas the weekend before Christmas, this is us in our cool 3-D glasses prior to the screening of Avatar - As we left the Theater Steve stated that it might be the

"Best Movie Ever"

The sixth picture of Christmas - also comes from our surprise trip to Las Vegas - Chicken and Waffles at Hash House a Go Go - very yummy!

The Seventh picture of Christmas - Old English Pudding - that we served on Christmas Eve! - It had been a goal of Steve's to find a recipe and make it, on December 23rd as we were finishing some last minute shopping at Gardner Village we found some at the Naborhood Bakery and prepared that instead - much easier than finding our own Beef Suiett... not sure that we will add it to the menu every year but it was fun to try.

The Eighth Picture of Christmas, Evan, on Christmas morning with his new guitar... What more could you ask for.
