Spring!!!

I am so excited that it is Spring, anyone that knows me, knows that I love the snow and the winter, but this year in particular I was just ready for some sunshine, and beauty. There have been a few medical issues going on in my family, and it has all added up to make me feel a little bit down, but yesterady was a great spring day, and I was particularly grateful.

Because it was so beautiful I just wanted to be outside, so in the afternoon, Steve and I went down and walked around the Bountiful Lake (who knew there was such a beautiful place so close to home) - as the Bountiful Lake is located in our own little city of West Bountiful.

Beauty can be found in the strangest of places, because the Bountiful Dump is also located in West Bountiful, right next to the Bountiful Lake, not sure if you can read the sign below but it states that the Dump, in our city is only accessible to Bountiful residents, not West Bountiful citizens... seems a little crazy to me, but in spite of my frustration over our land being used to dump another cities waste, I was grateful for the beautiful walk so close to home.

What a Great Husband!

So it has been kind of a long / tough weekend, it was Bowl for Kids' Sake on Saturday and I worked all day, and due to the economy I have been a little worried and stressed about how the event would go. Well, it was great, things went well, but I am exhausted. Without my noticing this morning Steve grabbed a gift card that we had been saving for a special occasion and at about 11:30 AM when I was burried in the piles of paperwork for the event, he called and said what would you think about us going to The Melting Pot tonight. What a great idea, we arrived about 6:30 PM, had cheese fondue with bread, vegetables and apples. Then cooked our meats including, shrimp, salmon, pork, chicken and my favorite filet mignon in vegetable broth. Followed by a chocolate/peanut butter fondue with fruit and treats. It was "fabulous" We finished at about 8:45 PM, it was such a relaxing nice evening.... Thanks Steve

Girls Night Out x 3

So this week, was a busy one, with three separate girls night out evenings... I think Steve might actually enjoy them more than I do because it means that he gets to stay home and do whatever he wants including play video games. :)

First was the Concert -

I went to the Celine Dion concert with Abbey (my college roommate / and one of my favorite concert buddies). I had received the tickets for free, and Steve said he would go, but I could tell he really didn't want to, then I remembered that Abbey and I used to turn Celine on, loudly at times while we got ready to go out, and I was glad that she was free and excited to join me. It really was a good concert, she is a pretty amazing entertainer.

Second there was Book Club and a Movie

I have been in the same book club for longer about five years and we meet once per month to talk about the book, one of us has chosen, this month there were only three of us available to meet so we all met at McCool's for dinner (decent food) and to discuss the book "Girl in Hyacinth Blue" Book Club night is always a treat, but this night was extra special because then April and I decided to go see "Confessions of a Shopaholic" It was such a cute book, that I should have been more prepared for the movie to disappoint, as they always do when you love the book. But the evening did not.

Third there was Yoga with Kim

So Steve and I joined Gold's Gym about two weeks ago, and Kim (my sister-in-law) suggested that we try a yoga class together. I couldn't believe how hard it was, granted I'm not in the best of shape, but it was amazing what a workout it was - I wasn't able to complete all the moves, but it was a good time, and I think we may make it a weekly tradition, so hopefully soon, I will be able to complete the entire class.

To top the week off, I also got to have lunch with my friend Mindi and her new baby Sophie. It was a good week filled with good friends.

A great Saturday with the Folks!

So last weekend, Steve and I were out of town, and then we had a lot of things to catch up with upon returning. One of the best parts about living in Davis County has been that we get to see our parents and parents in law on a weekly basis. Well since we hadn't seen either set in about two weeks Saturday was spent catching up on that.

First we went to lunch with Steve's Parents at the Olive Garden, it was great to see them, and Steve's Dad ended up giving me some much needed advice on my Relief Society Lesson.

Then for dinner we joined my folks at Little America, which is always fun, and then we went with them to RC Willey (always a fun store to wander in) while they bought a new washer and water heater.

We didn't have any pictures from yesterday, but I thought it might be fun to post a few from a trip we took this past summer with both sets of parents to Mt. Rushmore, and while that may sound like a disaster in the making it was actually a really fun trip

The Cabin

So last Thursday Steve and I headed up to my Grandma Johnson's Cabin, it is such a peaceful place, and we are so grateful that we get to spend time up there. On Friday April, Justin and Carson joined us and then on Sunday, Kim, Dave and the Kids came up, most of the weekend was spent playing games, sleeping, and eating... as most cabin weekends are spent, but there were two afternoons of sledding that also turned out great below are some pictures.

Today Jill sent me an e-mail with a link to another person's blog where they had this clip of this commedian talking about how spoiled we all are today. Superbowl - Birthday Party

So the celebrations of Steve's birthday continued throughout the weekend, culminating with a family dinner at our house on Sunday followed by the Super Bowl. Below are some great pictures from the evening - Steve and I in our 3-D glasses for the commercials. By the way I never remember them giving me such a headache as a child.

As everyone left that evening Steve and I were saddened to see the Cardinal's lose the game in the last few minutes, as we typically cheer for the underdog. We reminisced a bit about last years Super Bowl, we were on a trip in Boston for Steve's birthday and the New England Patriots were playing the New York Giants there were nice televisions in the lobby of the hotel, but since we were rooting for the underdogs (the Giants) we watched on the small television in our hotel room, as the Giants won, and we cheered quietly so that none of the fans in the main lobby chased us down. It was a great evening a year ago and a great evening last night.
